Deputy Director, Food Waste
Yvette Cabrera focuses on improving the food system by making it more equitable, sustainable, and efficient. Cabrera joins NRDC from the Rockefeller Foundation, where she managed the day-to-day implementation of the YieldWise initiative in the U.S. as a food waste analyst. Prior to that, she founded a social enterprise focused on reducing food waste at the farm level in the U.S., and also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. Cabrera holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a master's degree from New York University. She is based in NRDC's New York office.
