Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio Jointly Endorse Congestion Pricing

New York, NY – Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio today unveiled a proposal to restructure the MTA and create a dedicated funding stream to transform New York’s beleaguered transportation system. As part of the proposal, the Governor and Mayor jointly endorsed congestion pricing.

A statement follows from Rich Schrader, New York Political Director for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC):

“For too long, New Yorkers have had to put up with a crumbling, unreliable transportation system. The Governor’s congestion pricing proposal is the solution we need to rescue and rehabilitate our subway, bus and commuter rail – while at the same time tackling New York City’s traffic congestion and reducing harmful air pollution. We have an opportunity to make a lasting change that benefits all New Yorkers—and we must seize it.”
