Julia de Lamare
Julia de Lamare works to advance the clean energy transition in California in an affordable, equitable, and cost-effective manner. To achieve these outcomes, she advocates at state regulatory and legislative forums. As the California team's legal expert, De Lamare supports NRDC's work on proceedings that deal with decarbonization goals, distributed energy resources, energy efficiency, resource planning, and electric affordability at the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Energy Commission. Prior to joining NRDC, De Lamare was a senior associate attorney at a Brazilian law firm (RPRSA Advogados) and a lecturer on environmental law at FGV Direito Rio (Brazil). She has extensive experience working with energy and environmental litigation and stakeholder engagement in Brazil. De Lamare holds a bachelor of laws (LL.B – J.D. equivalent) and a master's degree in law and regulation from FGV Direito Rio (Brazil), a professional degree in environmental resources from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and a master of laws (LL.M) in environmental law and policy from Stanford Law School. She is based in NRDC's San Francisco office.
