Director, City Energy Project, Healthy People & Thriving Communities Program
Kate McCormick focuses on expanding energy efficiency in buildings in partnership with cities around the country. McCormick's first three years at NRDC were spent working toward aggressive implementation of clean energy priorities in Midwest states, primarily Iowa. Before joining NRDC in 2013, she was a teacher in Futaleufú, Chile, and spent time with the World Wildlife Fund, Sowing Empowerment and Economic Development—a small community development organization in Riverdale, Maryland—and as a teaching assistant in Stanford’s department of economics. She earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Pennsylvania and attended Stanford University for master's degrees in Latin American studies and public policy, with a focus on energy and environmental policy.
