Meghan Hassett
Meghan Hassett manages and coordinates Illinois and Midwest campaign efforts on behalf of NRDC and NRDC Action Fund, working with NRDC’s policy experts and advocates as well as coalition partners to build the political support needed to protect public health and the environment in the Midwest. As a member of the Center for Policy Advocacy, Hassett aims to build political reach in support of smart, people-centered policies. Hassett previously served as a Midwest campaign coordinator and policy advocate in the Union of Concerned Scientists’ climate and energy program, where she helped pass clean energy legislation in Illinois and Minnesota. She also managed an Illinois State Senate campaign in the Chicago suburbs in 2018 for a first-time female candidate. Hassett is experienced in constituent outreach, voter registration and turnout, and state-based clean energy advocacy campaigns, having worked on campaigns in Michigan, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. She is based in NRDC's Chicago office.
