Director, Federal Policy, Climate & Clean Energy Program
Aliya Haq’s work focuses on developing and strengthening policies on climate change and clean energy at both the state and the federal level. Prior to joining NRDC, she was a director and research specialist at Greenpeace USA. She has also worked as an organizer with the Sierra Club and the California Public Interest Research Group and as a communications coordinator for the U.S. Global Change Research Program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental sociology from Cornell University and a master’s in environmental management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. She is based in Washington, D.C.
