As an attorney with NRDC’s Litigation team, Sorenson has worked on actions to restrict the use of antibiotics in livestock production, abate groundwater pollution, and inform the public about toxic chemicals in consumer products. She achieved a landmark settlement with the U.S. Navy, resulting in unprecedented measures to protect whales and dolphins from the Navy's use of powerful sonar and explosives during training and testing. In 2013, Sorenson received the Distinguished Environmental Advocates Award from the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources. Prior to joining NRDC, she clerked for the Honorable Marsha S. Berzon on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Wesleyan University and a J.D. from Yale Law School. She is based in NRDC’s San Francisco office.
