Steinberger focuses on policy efforts that set limits on dangerous carbon pollution from power plants and encourage continued growth and innovation in the clean energy sector. Prior to joining NRDC, he analyzed the potential global impacts of renewable technology deployment and innovation in the electricity sector for the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate’s flagship project, “The New Climate Economy” report. Steinberger holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. He is based in NRDC’s New York office.
