Much of Montina Cole’s advocacy targets the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s gas pipeline review policy and related gas planning and market issues. Previously, she focused on implementation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan, which requires states to develop their own programs for reducing carbon emissions from power plants. Prior to joining NRDC in 2014, Cole spent nearly 20 years handling energy- and utilities-related cases at corporate law firms. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Washburn University and a JD from the University of Virginia. She is also a fellow in the GreenFaith Fellowship Program for religiously based environmental leadership. She is based in Washington, D.C.
