Chief Litigation Counsel
Aaron Colangelo has litigated more than 100 cases for NRDC, including lawsuits related to migrant farmworker health, coastal water quality, food safety, drinking water contamination, energy efficiency, air pollution, hazardous waste cleanup, endangered species protections, overfishing, and government transparency. He has argued in dozens of federal and state courts, including in the Supreme Court of the United States. He also taught an environmental litigation seminar for four years as an adjunct professor at Howard University School of Law. Prior to joining NRDC, Colangelo practiced at a private law firm and a nonprofit legal services clinic. He graduated from Penn State University and Harvard Law School, where he was an editor for the Harvard Law Review. Colangelo served as NRDC's co-litigation director from 2015 until early 2020, and is based in NRDC's Washington, D.C., office.
